Youngsters enjoy trying out new skatepark ramps
EMSWORTH teenagers have been getting their skates on and rushing down to the
town's new skatepark.
Although the landscaping of the skatepark in Jubilee Park has not yet been
completed, the concrete ramps have been finished and are being put to good
use by skaters over the Easter Holidays.
The skatepark Includes a five foot quarter pipe, a fifteen foot jump box,
and a flat bank, skaters have been busy (his wonk lest trying out the new
facilities.
A spokeswoman for Havant Borough Council, which is in charge of the project,
said that although the bulk of the facility was completed on time decent
poor weather had prevented other parts of the project from being ready.
She said: "Due to ground weather conditions we have had to delay some of the
work at the sate park in Emsworth.
"The concrete was poured last Friday but contractors do still have 1,000
square yards of turf to lay. We are also waiting for delivery of the
landscape furniture.
"This does not affect the usage of the skatepark itself, as it is safe and
is currently being used."
It will be opened officially next month.
